The 10-Day 3-City Itinerary: Optimizing Your Makkah-Madinah Route

The "Golden Triangle" of Umrah

One of the biggest mistakes first-time pilgrims make is poor route planning. Backtracking between cities wastes time and money. Here is our recommended 10-Day Itinerary for a smooth, logical flow.

Days 1-4: Makkah (Arrival & Umrah)

Land in Jeddah (JED) -> Private Transfer to Makkah (1 hr).

  • Why first? You are likely in Ihram. Go straight to the Kaaba to perform your Umrah while your adrenaline is high.
  • Transport Tip: Book a "Jeddah to Makkah" transfer. Don't worry about trying to catch a train with luggage immediately after a flight.

Days 5-8: Madinah (The Retreat)

Makkah -> Madinah (4.5 hrs by Car).

  • The Drive: This is your time to rest. The drive north is peaceful.
  • Stay: 3-4 days allows you to pray 40 Salahs (optional but recommended) and visit the Rawdah.
  • Ziyarat: Use Day 6 for a private Ziyarat tour (Uhud, Quba).

Day 9-10: Jeddah (Relax & Depart)

Madinah -> Jeddah (4 hrs by Car / 2 hrs by Train).

  • Why end in Jeddah? It is safer to be near the airport for your flight. Jeddah offers a relaxing end with the Corniche and Red Sea views.
  • Shopping: Visit Al-Balad (Old Jeddah) for authentic souvenirs before flying home.

Why This Order Works

Starting with the intense physical rites of Umrah in Makkah and ending with the peaceful spirituality of Madinah (or relaxing Jeddah) prevents burnout. A private car ensures that the connections between these cities are stress-free.
